Title was trash ik
But hear me out. I been really wanting a mining rig just as a source of passive income i guess even if it's $50 a day which i don't mind. I been telling my self since 2016 I would get involved but never did cause of the cost to set up. Now I have some side cash which is about $6-7k. The electricity per kWh over here is about $0.139 not sure if that's bad or good my last bill was about $200 if that helps. What do you guys believe is a good setup to start with my budget. Would i be positive in this with my electricity kwh and budget since im in the US. Also is it hella loud i have a spot I can put it near in my room.
Thanks to anyone who can help me out.
If you already have the GPUs fine, go for it because all the other things you need aren’t that expensive.
If you need to buy gpus, first off good luck buying them, and second of all I’m not too sure that’s a great right now as mining has been slowly dyeing over the past 6 months. My profits have been cut in half from when I started.
I'd invest in running nodes rather than mining. My top choices for nodes would be Avalanche node (staking/or running), Gala Node (running) and XRPL node to then become a validator on the Flare Network when it launches.
That's pretty damn expensive electricity, higher than the national average for sure. I think you're much better off just buying and holding the crypto of your choice.

that sounds interesting can you pm how running nodes make's roi or just in general how it works. thanks for the info.
For 50$ a day at the current rate you're looking at 550+MH/s, which is around 9 3070s. They are really hard to obtain and if you do find them they're around 1k or more. So that's over 9k without the case, motherboard, RAM, CPU, etc.

dam 9 3070's I noticed some weird things when i search and 30s gpu there's different brands 10gb,8gb, etc all these different types does it matter ?

You need at least 6GB to mine Ethereum because the DAG size is around 4.04GB, but obviously the more the better. Also you need to be careful because there are some fakes flying around.
