Whats the future for ETH??

I’m no expert, but a friend of mine belives / told me that if BTC can be a considered as a “certainty” for cryptocurrencies , ETH cannot, that its more risky to invest on it and no one knows how it’s gonna play out in the future and if it will be still ranked as the “second” major crypto currency in the next months / years .

What do you guys think?
does anyone share these beliefs?
Why?? And why not ???

Tell me what you think in general

I'm confident ETH out values BTC by 10 years from now. Between the ever looming concern of energy efficiency, the diverse use-case of ETH as a platform, and how integral it's becoming in the NFT market, it's absolutely the most diverse Crypto with a major audience.
BTC got things started.. ETH is the future. There are plenty of videos and articles on why ETH is the best crypto so I’m not going to bother.

Right now eth is #2 and it is not close to #1 in the future it could be a whole new coin entirely. As things look now I would be very surprised if eth could compete with BTC. When BTC drops so does ETH 99% of the time.
I've gone more in-depth in my thread here, check out all the replies as well https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6155455

I see Ethereum as this new ecosystem for dApps. However, who's to say its competitors won't take over? Cardano might overtake ETH or at least capture a big market share.

You can't really compare Bitcoin to Ethereum. They are both here for different purposes. Bitcoin is far less risky than Ethereum, and you'll make higher returns in Bitcoin. The world needs a well-engineered store of value which is what Bitcoin is and Ethereum is not. The world will also benefit from Ethereum, but for other reasons.
If you have heard of Dapps, NFTs, DeFi, Ethereum, Tokens, Smart contracts... then you know Ethereum is here to stay. In fact, Ethereum has led the last two bull runs. Everything stems from Ethereum.

Are you crazy stupid or delusional.

Try to challenge my claims with some substance at least.
ETH is something that I will be holding for 5+ years. It will have good days and bad days of course but I'm thinking long-term with ETH.

Lmao. Classic shreder. Always putting out over-exaggerated claims. Bitcoin drops 20%, Ethereum follows with 40% it's as simple as that. Ethereum is focused on DeFi/dApps. They're not even competing against each other.. They're in 2 different divisions.

Also, just because ETH is half the market cap of Bitcoin doesn't mean it will remain like that. DOGE was a $100 billion market cap not so long ago, the market is strange in its early phases - lots of people like Ethereum because they think of short-term gains! The real winner is Bitcoin.

Ah, my mistake this bull run was definitely all about BTC. Sorry, I am deluded apparently.

My delusion has apparently affected my vision. Ah yes, I must be misreading the fact that Ethereum settles $40 Billion dollars more than BTC daily.

I must have dreamt that for the majority of the year people were talking about taproot and not DeFi or NFTs.
I wouldn't compare Bitcoin to Ethereum, they are just completely different.

Who's better, a Tiger or a Shark? They both have their respective territories and dominate those.

Bitcoin dominates by arguably being the best coin for store of value, security (through hashrate) and decentralization.
Ethereum on the other hand is a whole ecosystem of Dapps for DeFi, NFTs and various other usecases. It's programmable money.

The bull case for Ethereum (and the reason why I'm more bullish on ETH) is that it's slowly but surely getting better SoV properties and a higher security.
With EIP-1559 coming in July Ethereum will start burning part of the fees and as we all know, that's a fucking lot.
With 'The Merge' - the full switch from PoW to PoS - happening probably around Q1 2021 we'll see a reduction in issuance from ~4% to ~0.4%.

The combination of those means that on days with high transaction volume ETH will even be deflationary.

This will make Ether a so called 'triple-point asset'.

There are three categories of assets: capital assets, consumable assets and store of value assets.
Most assets belong to one, maybe two categories.

Ethereum will belong to every single one of them which makes it an excellent investment.

For a full explanation of the triple point asset and a lot of bullishness and hopium, read this:

Ah, so Ethereum starts rallying after every BTC halving. Good to know. 😆

They could. Absurd claims being made is all.
Other Proof-of-Stake blockchains in the top 10 are more likely to flip Ethereum because ETH 2.0 is an unfulfilled promise. 😁

Nothing is going to flip BTC, and actually, there’s no reason why it should or why it even matters (not saying you said it, more so just responding to others on this thread).
