I am looking to file a patent, but it is a bit overwhelming.

I do not want to give my idea up to anyone in the process of doing so,
but it's quite hard doing it all on my own. I'd love to have somebody
to kind of guide me in the way I need to go and what I need to do!

You'll need a patent lawyer forsure.. they are actually worth it as well because they will know the mumbo jumbo that needs to be said in the right way and spend the time looking for patents already filed with your same idea.

After conducting a detailed search, I found one similar..

For example lets say the patent is a PB&J sandwhich.
Theirs taste great, but the put the PB and Jelly on the outside of the bread
and not the inside like a dumbass messing up the entire concept.

Now I don't even really know where to go with it.

Speak to a patent lawyer and if your way of doing things is clearly different you shouldn't have issues
