Wireless Mouse & External HDD Conflict?

So I built my mom a PC about a month ago, maybe?

She uses a Logitech MK570 wireless keyboard with a Logitech Performance MX wireless mouse. WD Passport Ultra as her external HDD.

She was having some lagging with her wireless mouse, and this had been an issue before. When I told her to unplug her hard drive, and she did, her mouse was instantly responsive again.

I installed the drivers for all the devices, including the HDD and still, didn't fix it.

Through searching online, I found possibly switching ports may be a solution, so I did just that.

I switched the USB that the external HDD was plugged into, from the front panel USB 2.0 port, to the back of the case, using a USB 3.0 port on the mobo. Surprisingly that seemed to fix the issue. It's just not very ergonomic for my mother, when she goes to plug in her Passport.

Is there any other workaround for this? Or is this pretty much what I gotta do? No issue with a wired mouse, just wireless.

Saving for new home, donations are appreciated.
This happened to me aswell when something is connected next to wireless mouse. My solution was just changing it to any other port except that one next to mouse.
An easy solution is a USB extension cable for the HDD. Try different port combinations and see what works. It sounds like your issue is based on which ports you are using.
