Currency exchange calculation

hey guys.
been trying to trade some of my agcs to btc and ran into a guy who exchanges at 75% rate.
now we've been discussing about the calculation of that, which is really not that hard.
i wanted $30 in btc, how much would that be in agc? $37.5 right?
30*1.25=37.5, is it wrong?
the calculation that he did is 30/0.75=40.
that's not really 75% right?
whos right? would like your opinions on it.
$40*.75 is $30 which is the correct rate. So in this case you're wrong.

how is this correct? if we do it that way then it is not the right percentage is it?
When people buy AGC they are paying 75% of the value of the cards.

When people sell Bitcoin though they are charging a percentage/fee. That's when your math is correct, if I'm selling $70 Bitcoin for Zelle for a 8% fee it would be 70 x 1.08 = $75.6

He is exchanging his BTC for agc at a 75% rate. That means you give him x amount and he gives you 75% of that.
So if you want $30 BTC you need to give him whatever amount equals to 30 after you take 75% off (which is 40).

Exactly this. That 75% rate is 75% of the AGC you send.
