Does anyone know about information systems? I am thinking of majoring there instead of computer science and heard its like a mix of computer science, business, and information technology, anyone know what you do in the day in the life of someone who studied this and made this their profession? Also is it less math heavy than cs?

You are pretty much responsible for the hardware and software that is collecting and transferring critical business data. Data has become more important and relevant than ever, thus this field of study has a ton of value.

For education, the basic difference is - CS heavily explores development in different coding languages offered by your school, and CIS explains how computer systems work in a business.

Less advanced math classes when going for CIS.

It'll depend on the job. I would schedule a meeting with your school counselor and talk about it with them.

If you want to code, computer science is the route.
If you want to be on a team with coders but organize requirements, or be the one that coordinates business with technical people, then IS is the route.

Basically, it comes down to if you want to follow a developing career or if you just need a degree that states you have dealt with computer :)
