Through my experience with JavaScript I have had to obfuscate some of my code and scripts as a means of preventing any leaks. I am sure many of you have valuable code as well that you would prefer to obfuscate before releasing.
Please note, there is a key difference between beautifying and obfuscating. When you beautify code you are not really hiding anything and it can still be easily reverse-engineered. With obfuscation you can be more confident that your script will not be leaked, but it is still not 100% guaranteed. The idea is that novice developers will not be able to crack the code ultimately preventing leaking. Additionally, anyone who is able to crack the code will have to spend a ton of time on it and their expertise could probably be used for other things. So in a sense your code becomes a lot more secure..
The following have been the most successful resources from my previous experience:
https://obfuscator.io/
https://www.npmjs.com/package/javascript-obfuscator
Another major tip is to compile your nodejs project into an EXE file. This will effectively bunch all your source files and code into a bunch of 1's and 0's creating a fairly secure file:
https://www.npmjs.com/package/pkg
The best part about obfuscating is that it is relatively simple to implement. Keep your sensitive code safe from leakers!
