Vitalik Buterin sending a 0.1 Ether test amount before sending entire amount 1.5k eth

Even Vitalik Buterin has to send some test 0.1 Ethereum before his actual 1500 amount to make sure his Ethereum isn't lost to an address that doesn't exist. This really shows that Ethereum is truly decentralized and no one can really reverse or undo any transaction on the Ethereum network.

It's just one of the reason why I truly trust Ethereum unlike some other Ethereum killers. Moreover, this Ethereum also went to impetusgrants.org to help aid more research which is even more good news for humanity as a whole!

When Vitalik was given half the Shib supply to his cold storage address, it was incredibly interesting to hear the lengths that he went through to safely get rid of it.

First, since he was accessing his cold storage, he did not feel safe or secure doing it on any current hardware that he owned, so he went out and bought a brand new laptop.

Since he doesn't leave his private key fully constructed in a single location, he then had to call his parents in Canada and ask them to retrieve a number he has written down at home. Vitalik already know's half of his private key, and once they gave him that number, he was able to use it in a math formula to derive the second half of his key, allowing him to restore his cold storage wallet.

This further adds to your point that Vitalik is well aware there's no erasing mistakes.

Story starts at 1:20 if timestamp fails

Part of the reason to send a test is to make sure the other person gets it. They may not be fully familiar. Or maybe the person you're dealing with you don't fully trust. Depending on who I am dealing with I may send a test transaction or even request one. Usually noobs though that are involved. You want to make sure they aren't making a mistake.

Pretty funny for Vitalik to be doing it though.
