Thoughts on Oasis Labs? (ROSE)

I've noticed this coin being brought into discussions more often - seems it's really starting to pick up pace and the attention of more people.

The Oasis Blockchain Platform is a Layer 1 POS (Proof of Stake) smart contract platform - it's goals include providing scalability, extensibility and most importantly (imo) privacy.
Wouldn't call this a huge "hidden gem" at this stage, seeing that the market cap is 3.5b+, but I've noticed a lack of discussion about it.

They have formed a partnership with companies like Meta (formerly Facebook) and apparently they have been working with a Fortune 500 company for a while, but that specific company is yet to be announced.

They are backed by Polychain Capital Portfolio, Binance Labs Portfolio, Electric Capital Portfolio, Huobi Capital Portfolio, a16z Portfolio, Winklevoss Capital Portfolio, Pantera Capital Portfolio, and Coinbase.

Thoughts? Upon my first glance I believe this can go far, but obviously DYOR and I would love to hear your feedback.

One of the biggest issues I currently have is my lack of understanding on how they differentiate themselves from other privacy blockchains out there.

Previous ROSE thread I found after posting; https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6169592 - apologies to @Lowkey for myself making a similar post here. However the mkt cap and community has definitely grown since - their reddit has been blowing up with new traffic recently.
Sadly people don't talk much about ROSE, everyone got sucked into SCRT. From my research ROSE aims to be used for institutions/companies, the big players mostly. As of now ROSE looks like super underrated.
This doesn't look all that great for the average investor:

And this looks like a lot of potential sell pressure:

I don't like VC funded coins.

I also don't like dPoS coins. It's not proof of stake, it's delegated proof of stake.
There are only 110 consensus nodes, which means it's highly centralized.  (source)

Also, skimming through the documentation they have a fucking blacklist. Given that there are only 110 validators, they can arbitrarily block people (addresses) from spending their coins. (source)

Quote:consensus.params.public_key_blacklist A list of the public keys that cannot be used on the network. Currently, there are no blacklisted public keys.

TL;DR: Centralized, VC funded coin. That's a hard no.

Edit: Rembember, I'm looking at coins with a long term (> 5 years) view. Short- and mid term the price movements have nothing to do with fundamentals but with hype or Bitcoins movements.

Oasis Networks helps secure my DNA from the only DNA test I felt comfortable taking: Nebula Genomics.

I'm not invested, I think there are better places to put your money, but I do like to see real world utility out of crypto, and Oasis Network displays that well here.

Well duhh. They they target institutions/ companies. Institutions don't really like defi as they don't have as much control. They will always be centralized and there is where the big $ is. If they succeed that is of course.
