Which one are you going with?
Pages is simple, but I think you'd have to convert for anyone else not on Macintosh?

Neither. I go with OpenOffice or Google Docs. Mostly was using OpenOffice then started using Google Docs for the cloud benefits but then decided to return to OpenOffice to get away from Google products.

I had used OpenOffice back in high school. Now I use Microsoft Word even on a mac because pages has always given me trouble with compatibility.

I have open office now, I'm getting ready to start my real estate journey(getting licensed). Looking to either stay on open office or move to something else. I primarily use a mac for school and real estate so far. Just concerned about clients, customers, and others being able to use the documents I create. I'll probably use something like dotloop though. I don't know yet Thanks for reminding me about open office though (Nov 29, 2021 02:57 PM)Rionxee Wrote: I had used OpenOffice back in high school. I'm considering it, I found out that office either has a sub($6.99/month) or $99 for a license with no sub (Nov 29, 2021 03:19 PM)Allelujah Wrote: I have open office now, I'm getting ready to start my real estate journey(getting licensed). The only issue with just using apple's ecosystem are the extra steps to get it sent out to people without apple. Pages, for example is saved as .pages and you'll have to convert to a .doc or .docx I believe it is. A lot of people won't be able to convert them successfully or will struggle. Instead of having to remember each time I use pages, because I know I'll forget at least once or twice, I'm looking into alternatives. iWork though, I've worked for apple for almost 3 years and not once used it lmao! [update]: I looked up iWork in Apple's dictionary.. man. It's just a fancy way of grouping numbers, keynote, and pages together and referencing them. lmao. I thought it was an actual application. Shows how much we actually use it. Kind of like Microsoft Suite or Microsoft 365 smh I should have known this.

They're really designed with productivity in mind. Pages works great if everyone on your team/client base uses Mac as well. I just think Word has a steep price associated with it. GDocs, I'm not a big fan of. (Nov 29, 2021 02:55 PM)Omniscient Wrote: Neither. I go with OpenOffice or Google Docs. I switched over to G Docs and it has helped me a ton using cloud storage. Haven't even tried our OpenOffice, would you highly recommend? |
