I'm a bit bored, I'm a-lounge posting, and I've decided that almost every problem in my life could be alleviated by the judicious application of big wodges of cash.
So what are some good side hustles?
Please note, this is not a 'desperately need cash' type of thread, it's more a 'sit out on the porch and see if anyone fancies contributing' type of thread. White hat stuff, please.
So, I have a full-time job, and I have my own thing going, which is a web app that I developed, that I get a slice of sales. Problem is, the organisation I partner with is in charge of sales, and they're not really bothered. My work (and life) is quite variable, so sometimes I'm busy AF, and sometimes I have a bit more time.
Things I'm thinking about:
- Increasing sales of my application. Working on this a bit, but it's frustratingly 'internal', and mainly involves me trying to cajole colleagues.
- Doing some development in my spare time. Tempted by this, but, for example, on this site I'm sure there will always be someone who can do something cheaper and better than me. Maybe developing another application and selling it myself.
- Crypto trading. I have a little bit of crypto, and I have been considering buying some more, but the truth is, I don't have the love for the highs and lows, cocaine or suicide, so I don't know that this would likely be a 'side hustle' for me, so much as just a long-term investment, ya know.
- Crypto mining. This sounds very interesting to me, and I think I have a reasonable sketch of how it works - you buy some expensive processors, set it up, verify transactions, and take your cut (right?). My problem with this would be (I guess) getting hold of the boards, and balancing electricity use v profit. But it's very tempting, if there was some guaranteed way of, say, paying out $x for the equipment and you'd get back $30 a day profit, I'd do it.
- Buying an ebook and making $10,000 pure profit every minute.
- Selling my peachy bottom on the streets to bored businessmen.
So I'm kinda looking side-eyed at possibilities for the new year, if anyone wants to contribute.
