Everytime I share a HF link on WhatsApp, the meta information being shown is a reason people often don't click the link (asked around in a few groups I share links in what prevents them from doing it).

Currently, it shows the forum name as header, and the section as the description (followed by the title, but this only shows a few characters on mobile). I'd like to suggest to put the thread title as the meta title, and a bit of the threads content as the meta description. The forum name is already shown as a link below.

It's a small change, but it seems to be the reason people are often not interested in clicking on it, as they have no clue why they should click on it.

We've gone a few meta tags for social media. It's possible that the bot used by Whatsapp is blocked. I have to whitelist certain bots.

I may have to do some testing on this myself to figure out what it is doing.

EDIT: Yeah it's possible the bot is blocked. Same was happening with Discord but I fixed that.

Thanks. Yeah, this really helps as a good incentive for people to actually click on the links. Before they couldn't see anything, except for the title when clicking on the link and not being registered. Quite a lot of people just kept on telling me they weren't going to do anything based on "just a headline". So, this helps with that a bit.

Cool. Yeah, every site is different how they grab shit and HF has a lot of security so I have to make adjustments on our end. Usually not a big deal. Just gotta make sure it's done correctly.

I just quickly wanted to list that this is also broken for Discord. As I've seen it mentioned before, just wanted to make sure people were aware of this. Xerotic
