Hey guys,

I am looking to buy a high-performance 17 inch (preferably) laptop with a budget of 2000$.
The reason I can't make a decision is that they all seem to have these super expensive GPUs inside??
I will need it for CPU-intensive tasks (work/mainly software development, hosting servers, compiling large projects).
I need it to be fast, and reliable without the need for a super expensive GPU.
Is there such a configuration at all?
High-end CPU, fast ram, mediocre GPU?

If you look at workstation laptops they will all be nearly $2k or more without that great of a GPU.

A Dell Precision 7760 runs a bit over $2k for 16/32GB of RAM and 512GB SSD w/i7 11800H and has integrated graphics. Optional Quadro GPUs available but no point if you wouldn't use them. You could also consider a 17" XPS which is slightly cheaper and has a consumer GPU in it.

You may need a decent GPU eventually and at $2k budget, you should be able to afford it.

I'd look into the new Gigabyte Aero series, 12 core CPU

I have the older 8 core model and its been pretty great, especially with 4k OLED, Paid around $1k for it used. But the new models also come in a super high 1000+ nits brightness mini-LED like the new macbooks.
