South Korea says Good Bye to LTC

Litecoin's recent network upgrade enabling Mimblewimble Extension Blocks (MWEB) has put the network in the crosshairs of overly strident regulators.

South Korea is forcing their exchanges to delist Litecoin, as the upgraded has allowed users of the network to hide transactional information. Due to the risk of anonymous payments becoming too high, major exchanges have entirely de-listed it.

South Korea's top 5 exchanges have already all initiated this de-listing:
Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax

Incredibly awkward when the exchanges can simply choose to not use Mimblewimble as well.
Interesting news. This makes me even more bullish on LTC that I already was. LTC at $60 could be the 10x everyone is looking for over the next couple years.

Not speaking for Omni, but I see a lot of people stating they're bullish on LTC because this ban just shows that the privacy technology works.

My personal take is I'm unwilling to go that far, it's too much of a leap. Just because South Korea has banned LTC doesn't give us justification to then say "well, looks like the tech is just that strong then." We don't know if South Korea / 3rd parties have tried and failed to trace/break MWEB transactions. I'd wager that they haven't put much effort into it at all and are simply banning LTC because of what MWEB stands for, but that's just my guess.

That being said, this could start building a bit of a reputation for LTC. May have taken some major exchanges banning it for people to open their eyes a bit and see the privacy preserving qualities that LTC now has.

Because no one gives a fk about a few shitty south korean exchanges, while the rest of the world do care about privacy which just got improved.
Cyber Hustlin'
This makes LTC even more attractive to crypto users.

Exchange markets are one part of crypto's traffic. But, not all.

Don't forget that regulations can be turned back.

Bithumb is a fairly big exchange I believe. What's interesting to me is that SK has more US influence than most countries. So I wonder how much of this regulation is due to pressure from American interests? Almost feels experimental.

Meh, hard to say why exactly they are doing this. On face value they are saying they fear privacy. It provides food for thought.
Bad news is typically bearish for short-term. I’ll gladly bag it if it does drop.

If you guys want to long it, prepare for it to go as low as 48$ if BTC decides to dump further which is a high probability :)

I’m finally going to get back on that LTC train. Miss you guys

Due to it's privacy feature, I can see other countries delisting LTC from their crypto exchanges.
