What MicroController best for Assembly Language Programming?

Please suggest micro-controllers best suited for assembly language programming.

Years ago I programmed Intel 8048 and Intel 8051 devices ...

But now days there are better options in terms of ...
.. cost
.. speed.
.. on-board devices like A/D's & D/A's, etc
.. and features like ...
.... re-programmable onboard memory
.... more onboard memory
.... GPIO's
.... i^C and SPI buses
....  etc.

Thanks for any help.
i only see asm devs using old game chips for their programming tbh
lots of 6502 asm for old nintendo emulation or rom hacking or whatever. every now and then i hear about someone doing something with z80 chips, stuff like the rc2014 or the sc201, but again for the most part it's just hobby stuff.

in terms of actual embedded development, it's mostly just C nowadays, unless asm is absolutely required. most mcu's or development boards come with a HAL of some sort that's fairly well optimized for the chip itself, and a lot of chips have less restrictions in terms of size/storage.

im personally a fan of the stm32f series, personally i own an stm32f103rb board, an stm32f303 discovery board, and some other stm32f3-series nucleo32 board. but that HAL is pretty good for it and there's no need to really reinvent stuff like SPI/UART. has lots of gpio pins, analog pins, onboard adc and jtag interfaces, and even base models have a pretty high clock speed, ranging anywhere from 72MHz to over 300MHz. memory and storage also varies.
