Password bypass for windows OS

I recently purchased a desktop computer from a school teacher that got it from the school snd it is user/pass protected and it's running Windows(not sure which version but if I had to guess it's 10).

The recover password link isn't below the password input field like it usually is and trying Windows + R doesn't bring up the command prompt.

Is there a way to get into the system, or did I basically buy a massive paper weight?

Assuming you don't care about the contents of the hard drive just wipe it and start anew.
Upgrader,

That's what I ended up doing. Did a hard shut down several times until the the option to wipe it clean came up and took it from there.

Thanks for the reply.
