Scroll to the bottom of any page and you should see the 3 little bars. The left is Black, the middle is the default grey (#282828) and the right one is the lightest option (#343434). If you choose black or lightest then it sets a cookie. By choosing default (in the middle) no cookie is set or any JS executed because it's the sites default BG for the theme.

This is some simple JS I whipped up to do this. Since everyone was divided on the best background I have chosen to go this route. I think it should make many of you happy.

Please note that since this does work on a cookie, if you go into your cookie and alter it for a different hex code like #FF00FF then that will be the background. It should make [mention=1306528] pretty happy as it will be super easy to add something like this to HFX.

This is awesome! I love the different color tones and honestly not sure which one I like better, the lighter option that was changed to originally or the darkest black option. On the fence.

Regardless though I really like having the option to switch back and forth, so that's pretty cool.

Okay update:

I'm pretty sure the middle theme is my favorite. It makes everything stand out nicely, it's clean, it's light enough to where it's not totally black and has some character, and not dark enough to where you can't see the definition in different aspects of the forum.

Take the 3 screenshots below for example. Look at the border color of each of the Popularity updates; the lighter you go the more definition you see, the darker the less. However the middle, in my opinion you see a perfect amount of both, and that's how I feel about the rest of the site in terms of definition with the middle theme option. Also take a look at how each button highlights purple when hovered on the different themes:

I think just having these choices makes things amazing. Wait till I figure out how to apply this code to the other colors and you'll be able to select any color option on this theme. :)

I completely agree, it is such a big upgrade to the site and too daily HF usage, also being able to switch between main colors (red, green, yellow, purple, orange, white etc..) would be insanely cool as well and make things so much more modern, eventho i already love the site template as is right now, that would definitely bring things to a different level for many users.
