Someone i knew is selling 300 units of GPU use for mining ethereum. However, obviously after the merge, it has become non profitable anymore. He is selling it cheap. I am planning to buy it, question: can i use it efficiently for bitcoin mining?

What kind of cards? and what makes you feel you want to take on this risk after the merge? Plans to mine other coins? How is electricity? Access to renewables?

You could mine other alts although I would advise against it unless you have plug-in-play access to lots of cheap electricity and can get a solid PPA with no variable rate.

Otherwise not worth mining at home in most places in the US
