Starting now all HF Contracts REQUIRE a TID. That's a linked thread to the Contract.
Originally I had hoped that deals away from HF would use the system but I think this has created a situation where members are being scammed off-site and starting Contracts.
Currently the code isn't requiring a Marketplace thread, that code still needs to be added asap. However, anyone using a non-Marketplace TID for an HF Contract is violating site policy and action will be taken.
If you run into any bugs please LMK. This is new code.
Thank you.

so we are talking here about the up coming contracts right? or even if the contract before this thread will be under violating the site policy ?
this is good thing to happen
Thank you for making HF the safest marketplace forum on the internet. using a TID in the contract makes it more meaningful and help in countering scam to an extent.
maybe something like "showing all threads" as a dropdown while creating a contract with a user could be implemented?

All threads in Marketplace have a Contract button automatically with the TID. Should be super easy for any seller to just link to their thread and tell the member to click the Start Contract button.
This is a great change to the policy. But what about auto sale sites like selly? What if customers use those outside of HF are you considering those deals offsite?

Probably can have it link to a thread about the product via api

I think the reason to bring the change is the outcome of those contracts. but I think they will be as they are as editing is not allowed except for contact notes and that too for a limited time if I'm not wrong.

Only Vendors can link to autobuy sites and even then it's still from a Contract Template which is normally attached to a Thread. But in all cases, all Contracts do require a TID.

What if it's unrelated to a thread, for example if I want to exchange crypto with another member and it starts in convos ie "hey anyone want to do a quick 5k bytes for $10 btc?", do we have to make a thread for this one exchange and close the thread?
Does this also inadvertently mean greys cannot deal with other greys?
Great idea loving the changes.
Also note that I fixed an issue where you could start a Contract with a banned or closed member. That can no longer be done.
Out with the old and in with the new.. Great changes really a fan of the new implementations into the market place.

I been doing that since HF started. Down and dirty.
Good changes for the most part. We shall see how this ends up turning out.
