Another section that now requires upgrade to create a new thread.

I'm getting closer and closer to stopping the scam spam. I don't give a fuck if I have to restrict every forum section. Newbs continue to join and post "help me hack" threads that absolutely attracts the scammers and lowers HF's quality.  It will end, I promise you that.

You are right indeed, it does lower the general quality of HF, attracts scammers and doesn't contribute a single thing only causes more SEO towards those people resulting in more of those people joining HF who become victims and then give up on all of it anyways including HF..

I agree. New members who could potentially be quality members that end up scammed shortly after they join is vey bad. Sure, it's their fault and I personally question the IQ of those individuals but I still support whatever decision to prevent that from happening.

Getting an upgrade is indeed worth it. More than ever at the moment.

Quality over quantity always. It will be just a tad bit different seeing only upgraded member thread creations, but it's for the better of the forum as you mentioned. Scam spam needs to be stopped entirely.

Really good move. Restriction on all sections to upgraded members only & ban off site competition.

Surely will give new members a good experience here stop some scans, more people won't join get scammed and leave. & the off site competition will help aid keep convo/discussions on hF.

Fully support it, I'd do it for all sections if it was me, but not my call to make.

Hot take, but there should be a rule where we're allowed to harass / dox ex-HF members that were closed for scamming. Fuck those low-life pieces of shit. I'd love to call their employers and family.

Why not just forego free registrations and make it a requirement to upgrade upon joining? Or make it so that you can't post until you are upgraded?

A writing forum I'm a part of, pretty much the main place of discussion for the genre I write, does this. The community is small but it's very active, very tight-knit. You can register for free but you have no access to any of the forums or content until you upgrade. Not sure if that would work for HF but if any site could make it work, I'd imagine HF would.

EDIT: Should say, it's a monthly or annual subscription, $10 a month or $100 a year.
