INTRODUCTION
I'd like to start this review off by saying that this piece of informative content is NOT an ebook. There are no flashy colors, 300pt font, BOLD neon green and red text, giant images taking up half the PDF, none of that. What Mr. Robot has created here is meant to be a guide for beginners of the field and old pro's alike to both learn and refresh their skills in a fun, easy to understand manner that keeps the reader engaged and interested in the content they're choosing to take in, all while keeping it simple enough for easy repetition and memorization! This book is not just another piece of content teaching you how to be a l33t lizardsquad md5 dehashing pro, Pentesting for Beginners - Short Stories was designed carefully and masterfully to deliver the knowledge of a 15 year veteran in the industry to young minds who have taken an interest into the world of security research.
CONTENT
The first few pages of Pentesting for Beginners - Short Stories is filled with the usual title, table of contents, dedications, well wishes, and the occasional disclaimer, but don't be fooled, not two pages below we come to find a very important page that in a way prefaces the entire book. Websites You Should Know contains 30+ links (and growing) of the most important influential websites or directories created to push beginners into learning more about the field they'd like to get into, or take in other fields they may not know about. These links contain updated information about each field, ranging from Penetration testing, social engineering, malware reversal, mobile security, and so on to keep all new and old security researchers updated in the online world of data. This leads me onto the short stories.
The short stories within this book were crafted with a purpose. Each story contains a new piece of information, but brings real world value and understanding to the concept being taught per story. One story may be written about Harold breaching Home Depot's point of sale system while another story is about Patrick tracing incoming packets, but each story is carefully designed and written to ensure that the reader is able to follow along, understand, and apply each concept covered within these short stories to real world applications. Take a Youtube tutorial for example. The information you learn from said tutorial can usually only be applied to what the tutorial is about. Trying to take the information you learned from that tutorial into another project will most likely not adapt or apply. Pentesting for Beginners - Short Stories is the complete OPPOSITE. The information the reader extracts from each story can be understood and applied almost immediately, keeping the reader engaged and interested in learning more.
QUALITY
The quality of Pentesting for Beginners - Short Stories is on its way to exceeding almost every ebook or informative piece of literature on the market right now. As said in the introduction, there is no weird or crazy dumb images, flashy bright text or any ad's trying to market you to spend your money, this book was created with the intention of delivering you the information you want, when you want it, without having to search through unwanted pages of bullshit just to find it. The text is easy to read and doesn't strain your eyes after long exposure, the content displayed is professional and stays on topic, and the book is written in a way that you can just pick it up and dive right in without needing an understanding of any of the topics contained. Throughout my read, I did happen to notice a few spelling mistakes, missed or incorrect punctuation, and very RARELY a run on sentence, but overall those are hardly noticeable unless you are purposefully looking for them, and the content within the book supersedes the small errors or mistakes you may notice otherwise.
MY THOUGHTS/CONCLUSION
Pentesting for Beginners - Short stories is phenomenal so far. Each story is concise and straight to the point, crafted for easy repetition and understanding all while creating a fun, engaging story for the reader to enjoy. A few spelling mistakes and the occasional missed punctuation, but that does not hold this book back from quickly becoming a model piece of literature to learn from in the ever-changing industry of security research. All concepts in this book can and will be applied to the fields being taught for years to come, and that is why I say to anyone interested in picking up this book, DO IT. Whether you're a beginner or professional in the field, we ALL have something to learn.
Overall 9.5 / 10

Thank you so much for the review, as it is currently in the ebook state and I am working on it/adding content and fixing typing errors, it means I can provide those updates as we go.
For example, if you don't quite understand a term in the book, I can take your experience into account and include that.
When it has taken its final shape, I will be doing hardcover copies with the intent that it will be a great gift to get people as well as a nice coffee table book.

Hi bro, not sure if you need this but i'm willing to leave a review, recently back into the field after taking 2-3 years off. I've been doing stuff on and off for 10-15 years myself. If you are willing to give me the book for a discount, i can help structure everything and fix all mistakes for/with you. Also english literature major if that matters aha, will be buying whether i get it or not though.

Since the review from OMSPK, I believe I have fixed what was having issues previously.
Book is now on Apple books and Amazon as an Ebook.
I'm Stanley HF's helper bot. The OP (original poster) of this thread wants everyone to see this page and has elected to bump it to the top of the showthread listing. Since HF doesn't want a ton of LQP (Low Quality Posts) this is the best method of bumping your content. There is a small βyte fee for each bump. Any OP can bump any of their threads on HF from the linked icon on the top of their first post.
If you haven't already read the first post of this thread we encourage you to do so.

Just purchased on Amazon. I'm about a third of the way through, and cant wait till after work to finish it. This is absolute gold for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of not only the processes involved, but also a glimpse into the why these people do what they do. From a beginner like myself thank you Mr. Robot for putting this together.
