What programming language would you recommend me to learn as first language?

A while ago, I started learning C# but then stopped the course.
I bought a few courses on 'Ud3my' :

  • Complete Python Developer in 2023: Zero to Mastery
[How to become a Python 3 Developer and get hired! Build 12+ projects, learn Web Development, Machine Learning + more]

  • The Complete Web Developer in 2023: Zero to Mastery
[HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, Node.js, Machine Learning & more]

  • C# Basics for Beginners: Learn C# Fundamentals by Coding
[Master C# fundamentals in 6 hours - The most popular course with 50,000+ students, packed with tips and exercises]

  • C# Advanced Topics: Prepare for Technical Interviews
[Master the confusing C# constructs: Events, Delegates, Lambda Expressions, LINQ, Async/Await and more]

  • C# Intermediate: Classes, Interfaces and OOP
[An in-depth, step-by-step guide to classes, interfaces and object-oriented programming (OOP) with C#]

I would appreciate it if you guys could share some of your recommendations and why you recommend your recommendations, also if you have a language in mind that is not on the list, feel free to state that as well !
I will suggest you start with Python. It's the easiest and you'll have the basic knowledge by the time you start learning other languages.
Since I see web development in you list, I would advise you to learn PHP.

Great language, tonnes of devs behind it, lots of resources online. Very similar OOP semantics, whereas Python has unique semantics that may require extra work remembering what is what. ;p

Javascript since it has the most use cases. Do some research. Python comes second place if you like fiddling around.
Depends on what you want to end up doing but generally I'd say start with JavaScript. There's so many flavors and frameworks that are used in the web development world that it will hold you in good stead - especially if you want to do front end stuff. Plus, the general purpose programming knowledge you'll pick up can be applied to various different languages - you'll just need to learn the syntax.

Checkout code academy. They have some useful interactive exercises and stuff on there for learning the basics.

Whatever language you pick though, don't second guess your choice otherwise you'll never stick to it. Just jump in and have fun!

Happy Coding!
I think you should start with Python because this is one of the easiest programing languages. What you do after that is depense of what whould you do fpr example webside developement or what ever
It depends about what you are looking for, what you want to do with these skills, what are your projects, your motivation, etc.

I would start with Python because it's easy to get in and there are similarities with JS and programming in general
Python to get started (but quickly ditch it afterwards), then JavaScript, then something like Java or C# to get a notion of object oriented programming, followed by the final boss: Rust.

After learning a language like Rust, you will not see any use-cases for python projects unless it's to do something the quick and dirty way.

Anyway, getting started with just one language could take time and it could take years to master said language. So depending on what your goals are, you might get very busy for a very long time. Happy coding.

Be sure to also look at some of the most popular frameworks and libraries like
  • Spring
  • Flask
  • Django
  • NextJS
  • React
  • Actix web
  • Asp
  • ExpressJS
  • Angular

I would learn python/JavaScript and learn a nice amount about web development, then learn C# since you have some courses for it and you might aswell make use for them. Then if you want to you can learn functional programming if it's something that interests you or Rust. But past C# I would say it really depends on what your end goal is? A job? What kind of role and in what kind of industry etc....
SQL or R for visualization possibly?
As long as it features object-oriented programming you can use any language you like. If you learn the basics and abstract thinking with one language you can easily learn other languages.
it depends what you want to do, but I'd recommend learning JavaScript first as it will be the most versatile moving forward. Most front-end web languages are just JavaScript libraries (Angular, AngularJS, jQuery, Vue, etc.) so learning JavaScript would give you a head-start if you chose to get into any of those other languages / frameworks. The syntax for JavaScript is also relatively similar to that of C#, Java, Swift, etc. so it would potentially make learning those languages a bit easier having some foundation in JS.
Inactive, I don't sell products anymore. Please do not message me.
Just here to occasionally lurk.
I think that it highly depends on what you want to do in the feature. I recommend learning PHP and javascript because both are highly used coding languages. Afterwords I would recommend python because its used in a lot of large data processing systems. f course you should also know html and css because those are core parts of the web.
I mean it really depends on what you work on, but I'd say javascript for sure.
