Should I use a VPN before connecting to tor?
I saw an article here: howtogeek(dot)com/845840/should-you-use-tor-over-vpn-or-vpn-over-tor/
And I just don't know if it is any more secure than tor by itself.

Of course its better.
If you use VPN, then all the traffic is encrypted.
if you dont use VPN and just connect to TOR directly, then your internet provider knows that you are connecting to TOR nodes.

VPN + TOR is better than TOR without VPN.
At least thats what you have asked.
in my opinion how you obfuscate the fact connecting to TOR nodes is a minor thing, vpn is good enough for it.

Thank you for helping me kind sir
It will add even more latency to your connection, not to mention that configuring your system to use both virtual adapters will likely be a doozy.

Какого черта?
What are you talking about being "a doozy"?
A little latency is worth being able to browse the web without fear
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
As others have said, using a VPN in addition to TOR Network will only increase your anonymity. Look at it as additional layer. As for the configuration that depends if you are simply using TOR Browser, or for example actually using a virtual network adapter to channel all traffic through.

It means difficult or problematic. You should also read https://fossbytes.com/tor-anonymity-thin...using-tor/
Connecting to VPN before you connect to TOR and making sure that a killswitch is enabled will encrypt your data before it reaches TOR, your ISP will not know you are using TOR. Once inside TOR you can use a proxy service (portal) to connect to websites, to hide the fact that you're on the tor browser.
