So came across this earlier today, it's not using RNG manips for whatever reason but I had to check it out and get it running. Basically, it will allow you to hunt any shiny in Pokemon Emerald which you can then port over to a real cartridge after for a bit of fun.
Hoping someone takes this in the future to a TAS RNG manip shiny only speed run. That would be sick to see.
For those of you who don't know, once you get your trainer ID you can pretty much know exactly which frame after a restart of the console will contain the perfect stat pokemon and if it's shiny or not. So you can precalculate it.
This will automatically stop once my Torchic is a shiny. Then I can choose the next location/pokemon to hunt.
This is a good option for people who like to SR for shiny starters. I'm a dirty cheater and just use PKHEX to fix up all my stuff. I love the fact you get the nature, IVs, and stats for how long it took.

??? You can get a shiny starter fresh out of the ball? O.o

Indeed you can. Quite a few people will SR (soft reset) a game over and over to get a shiny starter. Heck some people do over 10k resets and spend months / years working for it. I can't say I share the same level of ambition, but hey good for them.

I never knew that. I thought Shiny Pokemon could only occur in the wild not through starters or in-game trade.

I think I recall hearing or reading that before actually. Except it was on Ruby I believe.

Idek what that is. Imma look it up.
Edit: ohhh I know about that. Just didnt know thats what it was called. There was something like that even way back on Yellow.
While I'm not too surprised something like this is possible, it is still quite crazy to me. No doubt really cool as well though if it's something you're into. This also just made me get hit with nostalgia of the older Pokemon games and that I sunk so much damn time into, much of which of course was hunting every Pokemon you could get lol. Haven't touched a Pokemon game in ages, but maybe one day. They're obviously going to continue getting made and advancing in countless ways after all.

Why not use a program to do that then? Or just memory edit?
