I'm in the US so I never see these, obviously. But I can see companies hurting for workers in eligible industries, particularly those without a significant foreign applicant presence in naturally, doing this. At some point it's not stranger or different than companies advertising open positions within the country itself.

I'm sure there are certain industries where it's just innately unnecessary. IT and Tech, for example. You don't really need to advertise to foreign countries any differently than you do to within the US/Canada. Foreign applicants in these industries are just prone to researching open positions and applying on the chance the company will sponsor them for an H1-B / E-3 visa.

I don't think it's weird if their industry is genuinely struggling with qualified applicants. You do what you have to do to attract talent. It's not a problem until companies are electing to seek out immigrant workers over domestic applicants due to value.But that's also why countries control the number of these visas in the first place.

Canada do be like that, injecting foreign workers rapidly. It's changed so much.

I don't know if they put ads up. However, I do know companies exist in other countries and they do promote to to them that there's job openings in the U.S.A and Canada. Some even offer to pay for all travel and moving expenses.

Exactly this. I know someone that comes here (Canada) in the summer time to work in the fields. He gets lodging, food and paid for the entire summer time

Yeah, I've seen those ads too. It is kinda weird, but I guess they're looking for talent from all around the world.
