been with the company about a year casually but working full time hours. came from a management background before I retired from my carrer position to be a stay home dad. During my onboarding the place was a complete cluster fuck so as a passion project i made a proposal to stream line their systems it was simple but elegant and saved almost 2 man hours per day per staff (freeing up their time to be more focused on the primary aspects of their jobs) and it gets rejected not because if issues with the program or security concerns but because they have been paying an out sourced company that reeks of a scam to do the stream lining and in over one year they have not streamline a single thing
how can you compete with a blindly followed scam
screw it end of rant some one pour me a drink
Perhaps someone higher up is getting some sort of a kickback from outsourcing to that company. I see it all the time, I'll pick your company for this job and you cut me a check for this much.
I don't pretend to know a lot about how big companies run. But I worked for one that was shitty and my bother worked for 2 that was shitty and my dad worked for another that was also shitty. What did they all have in common? They would let people in management let people that were lazy know-it-alls be teamleaders/supervisors but they didn't know shit about how to run things. They were just good at faking it. Maybe they were favorites or actually sleeping with a higher up. idk....but it just seemed like they didn't truly care about looking for ways to make the company run better. They would, for some stupid reason, have the hard working smarter people at the bottom and the useless arrogant ones in charge.
At my brother's previous job they would rather have them patching up equipment with zip ties and duct tape rather that get them properly repaired and then complain if the machines went down a dozen or more times a day. Then get on the line workers' cases for getting behind in parts. Most of the time (or at least for what little I've seen) they want you to stfu and just work. They don't really care to hear your ideas.
And yes, I wouldn't be surprised if somebody high up was getting a kickback from the scam and the higher ups think the world of this person.

It sounds like you know your stuff, find somewhere else that values it.

Decisions aren't always made by people who fully understand the details. They rely on people to inform them and break that stuff down. When someone else does a better job of that, the bit that other person is standing behind can and often will be awarded the green light. Either someone internally is backing that other company, or they did a better job pitching the solution than you did.

I feel your frustration. It sucks when a good idea gets shot down for reasons beyond your control. Competing with a blindly followed scam can be tough. My advice? Keep your passion alive, and maybe consider pitching your ideas elsewhere or discussing it with higher-ups in your company.
thank you all for sharing you experiences and advice. super appreciate it .

[mention=5037217]'s way is the only professional way in that kind of rejection. Don't leave until they say yes to your proposal.
On a serious note, I hope you don't throw your ideas or get discouraged. Keep it alive and just like other said, you may want to fetch it outside your company. If you think it can be fruitful, you may develop it as a service of your own.
We really can't do much in a corpo world unless you hold some stake. Unless you do a little bit of terrorism?
I'm also a salaryman and when I'm in that situation, I just say "it is what it is", "it's their loss", or any copium phrases that I could think of.

Thank you. i did consider developing it further and creating a service for it but i have no idea how to get customers to such a service and i basically back burnered all project data for the time being

I was in a similar position to you earlier this year and I left to start my own business.
It is never worth your mental health, brother.
Keep your head up!
