I used to see a lot of hype around crypto a few years ago, but it seems it died down.
Interest in crypto went down alot, with a lot of people exiting their positions, or just holding on until there will be some movement.
Crypto in general just went boring for me, everything that looked cool before is now just "meh" because you know that it just won't gain you any returns.
We have been in a bear market for so long that I am starting to wonder if we will ever see a bull market again in this space. There have been some cool projects in the last few years, but none of them really managed to gain something out of it, with most of them dying or just dumping to the ground. Popular coins like BTC & ETH are also not doing anything interesting price-wise.
Would love your opinion on this.
I think so much of the hype was because of the media positively reporting on both crypto and NFTs. There were daily NEWS reports of all these overnight millionaires, and people changing their lives with crypto and NFTs. Then the exchanges started crashing and they discovered that those stories got more attention. That and the media is so controlled by the government that I'm sure the government is telling them to tell all the horror stories and push people from crypto.

How is it boring?
Create systems and use systemization to stack edges to make money in the market. All this qualitative BS. Humans are not designed to trade, we need to rely on systems to WIN. Even recently there was a 2% pump because some fake news about SPOT BTC EFT's which will effectively inject billions into the Crypto market. Which will set off the bullrun. Latest instillation of EFT's, not just BTC ETF's. Is ~ 09 Jan 2024 being the latest. It's crazy to see the market move so much over fake news! IMAGINE real News! Dont rely on news, never simply rely on qualitative analysis ape brain doesn't work. Load bags using SDCA and win if you're not spastic over the next 2 years. Fuck XRP and shitcoins.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
There’s still potential in crypto. It’s just not as lucrative and you can lose a lot of money really fast. The market is very volitile.
Bear market, was the same vibes in 2019. Just wait 12 months.

You think October 2024? Are you saying this because of the election or a different feeling?
I keep thinking it might pick up some this Spring, or possibly Spring 2025.
Crypto is always boring when the majority stop to invest. The most exciting times was when EVERYONE was investing and it was on the news daily. Now that the price has dropped to a ''boring'' 27k, the majority dont want to invest cause they are either in the minus or they feel like they missed the train.
It just seems boring because people are not investing. I am sure as soon as the bear market ends, it will be the talk of the town again.

That's my bad I meant more like 14 months to be exact, that's when things will start to pick up and throughout all of 2025 we will see the full effect.
The volatility is less than before, these are the times to have patience and looking for the right opportunity to participate. Times like these test and investor patience and how serious they are, it definitely rules out the individuals who was only interested in Crypto because of the hype behind it.
BTC is and will be the future. Example, I got pickpocketed in London, no wallet and had to cancel all my cards, crypto saved my ass simple using my phone to transfer. I know the tap bs works well to but my banks wouldn’t give me a card to add due to fraud situations with getting robbed. Fuck London but love Crypto
Do you think we will ever see a bull market again? Trust in crypto is very low on the market right now, a lot of people lost their money aswell so I don't see many people investing again. Companies also seem to be careful around this topic and what to do with it. A lot of people got scammed / invested in shitcoins, which makes them afraid to invest in crypto again, given the chance.
I don't want to spread FUD or be pessimistic ofcourse, but I wanted to put this question into the daylight as this has been a topic that has been on my mind for a few days. I'm not sure if we will ever see the numbers that crypto did back in 2017-2018.
It has its ups and downs, I don't think Crypto is boring but with the current wars etc the focus is shifted. Crypto is here for the long run and we'll see another bull market in like 2-ish years I think.
It's true that the crypto space has experienced a shift in enthusiasm. The hype we saw a few years back has certainly shifted, towards a less popular perspective. Many people have either sold their crypto or are holding until it starts going up in value.
Crypto certainly lost momentum toward delivering excitement in terms of its price. Another reason could be, its volatility, which makes it challenging to predict its future with certainty.
Crypto sure seems exciting to me, seeing BTC breaking all those ceilings right now.
