Title says it all.

For 5 years I ran a discord/website for adult content and sometimes was donated over $600/month for months.

This is just my Patreon donations. I earned even more from advertising on my website.
The reason for the huge dropoff at the end was because that was when I gave the discord server away and shut donations down.

Ask me anything and I will answer to the best of my knowledge [^^]

(in this I highlight $1000 that was refunded, ignore that. You can see the rest wasn't refunded for full amounts)

So, here is a ton of questions:
1- did you use other socials or mainly discord?
2- did you work with a model or re used a pack for a long time?
3- sales were in of/patreon/paypal?
4- noticed anything different from running a snap community or OF?

1. Mainly Discord. I did make a Tumbler when they allowed porn still and a reddit accounts with a few subreddits but they didn't really help so I didn't keep up with them,

2. For Discord no, for the website I used Adult Video Script which I don't recommend using.

3. Pateron and bank transfers from crakrevenue

4. Lots of drama, basically adult children fighting all the time. Also had issues with kids joining so we started checking everyone's age and verifying IDs.

I first started with making an alt account and going to other discords and just spamming people with invites in their DMs (my discord was also fleshed out at this point had bots, content posted, channels setup, rules ect...) I did that for the first day and got like 200 members. Then I used advertising sites like disboard and discord.me

That was about it, I made custom anime characters with story backgrounds and paid artist to draw them. Held events, got staff members. Hard to generalize 5 years into a few words so if you have any specific questions I can answer I'd be glad to. As for growth it came pretty naturally, I assume this is because I created a good structure for the community.

Bumping because this sub-forum is riddled with the same stuff and this thread actually gives advice.

"Stars" which were the currency for our discord bot. 1000 Stars for each dollar, and they would get 1-10 custom reactions depending on how much they spent. A custom reaction is like a special command they could use and it would say something + show whatever GIF they wanted. With Stars you could buy things like special roles, waifus, ect... but no I didn't sell/have any locked content.

What reactions look like in the server:
