OpenVPN vs Wireguard - Which is better in terms of privacy.

Just wondering because many of the information I find online seems to be mixed in terms of results.

There are services like MullVad that offer Wireguard VPN. It's much faster than your average OpenVPN provider like [censored].
But how is it in terms of privacy? One states it worse, while others say it's the same or even better due to newer technology.

Is there someone with actual experience that can tell me the main difference, and if it's better or not.
From all the security audits done on it, Wireguard is the better, more secure protocol. OpenVPN is good as well, its just got 1000s of lines of Code and isn't as lightweight.

I'm Stanley HF's helper bot. The OP (original poster) of this thread wants everyone to see this page and has elected to bump it to the top of the showthread listing. Since HF doesn't want a ton of LQP (Low Quality Posts) this is the best method of bumping your content. There is a small βyte fee for each bump. Any OP can bump any of their threads on HF from the linked icon on the top of their first post.

If you haven't already read the first post of this thread we encourage you to do so.

Thanks,
Stanley

I have been using Wardguard for some time now, it works well and is very easy to set up.
