Legendary NFL Coach Bill Belichick & The Patriots part ways after 24 years

Just as the title states; Bill Belichick & The Patriots have officially parted ways after 24 years, and seasons together. Not to mention the 6 Super Bowl wins on top of it..but hey who's counting. :P One can only imagine what the Patriots legacy would be today if Bill Belichick didn't choose to sign Tom Brady seeing the Pats prior to Brady were sort of irrelevant, but that one move cemented the greatest combo in NFL history.

I really didn't expect to see this news today, and it truly makes me sad. Belichick was the last "OG" for the Pats (excluding Robert Kraft of course), and now without Bill, the Pats just don't feel the same anymore at all. :/ (coming from a lifelong and diehard Patriots fan).

Though I can't say I'm surprised. Belichick and Brady were really at odds toward the end of Brady's tenure with the Pats, and that situation is largely in part of why Brady decided to trade to the Bucs after 20 seasons with the Pats (his whole NFL career at that point).

Bill Belichick in my opinion will forever go down as the absolute BEST NFL coach in history. Of course the same goes for Brady; absolute BEST quarterback the NFL has ever seen and probably ever will see. Boston & New England were blessed for 20 years with the definition of an NFL dream team, but now that it's gone, I just want to go back. D:

RIP the Patriots legacy of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. 🏈🙏🏈

Quote:Bill Belichick, Patriots 'part ways' after 24 seasons, 6 Super Bowl titles

The NFL doesn't offer perfect endings to many figures. Not even to a coach with more championship rings than anyone in league history, who took a New England Patriots franchise from the bottom of the NFL to one of the greatest 20-year runs in sports history.

In a headline that would have been hard to believe a few years ago, Bill Belichick is out as the Patriots' head coach. Belichick and the Patriots have decided to "part ways" after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl titles, the team announced Thursday.

This was something I didn't see happening. Yeah there were some recent shortcomings these last 2 seasons, but I figured he would turn it around with the right off-season. I think he is the greatest coach ever (I think Andy Reid is up there also). One thing I have always liked about Bill is he's coached just about every position there is. Nobody understands the game like he does. I'm torn on what I would want him to do now. Part of me wants him to retire just because he's had an incredible career and I don't want to see him go to another team. Another side of me wants to see him go to another team and bounce back in a huge way. I mentioned in another thread how awesome would it be if he went to Tampa Bay, brought in his old New England assistants and won a Superbowl.

Either way I'm grateful for getting to watch him coach.
