Are Open Source Grabbers/Stealers Safe

This it a little bit of a story so get ready for a read its well worth it though

When I was young I stumbled among discord on a YouTube video
I thought huh this would be cool to use and chat with people who are into
The same stuff as me and suprising enough that's what got me into hacking
I was on a server can't even remember what it was and someone said they got their discord Token stolen
I asked what is a discord Token they told me but I still didn't understand so I looked it up and that's when I came across a little website called GitHub it was my first time on there now you can image for a kid like myself I didn't understand anything it was like reading another language but while researching tokens I found BLANK GRABBER I'm sure you know what that is if not look it up ig it's a stealer basically but for your token which is like a cookie for logging into a discord account along with stealing chrome passwords so I run the builder and ran the output file on my OWN computer and was amazed but what info it grabbed then the next morning I woke up I was planning on telling my friends I had met on discord about it but I opened the app and I was logged out put in my password "incorrect password" I didn't know what had happened so I installed an antivirus and ran it and then was doing some more research and found out about a dual hook
So long story short I mean it's already a long story but.. I downloaded a fake version of blank grabber and when I ran it it send all my info to some guy in China probably

And 3 years later I had learned python and got started on my own stealer I just found it today I cant remember but I must of given up on it I am finally done making it so I can finally be the master anonymous hacker my 11 year old self wanted so baddly 🤣

Please pm if you would like to help or just want the grabber I made its open source so you can modify the code and make it your own I want to kick-start all the beginners like I was myself

Mortal of the story for beginners always look through code before running or upload to virus total and make sure you are running the legit version of software and not some cracked version from some person

Feel free to share your stories of how you got hacked if you have before that you so much for reading I spent alot of time on this enjoy your day
To answer the title, yes and no.
read the code and check to see if aren't there any "hidden" functionality in it... it is open source...
the whole purpose of using an open source tool is that you can inspect the code yourself...

if you don't know how to do that then for you there is no difference between open source and closed source applications..
