Hey all.

My friend and I have been working on building a (Reddit/Discord)esque community platform Sociables.

The goal for us is to create a public first version of Discord while having the option for paid/private communities.

Current community features

• Voice chat

• Threaded posts (rich text post, image post, link post)

• Chatrooms

• Recurring memberships

• Community donations

• Community customization (social links, banner, description)

• User roles & permissions system

Looking to get some feedback on design / user experience and overall thoughts <3

The design/ui is sleek, did you and your friend do it from scratch or did you use a template? If you built the site from scratch I'd say you're really quite advanced in front end and back end.
However, this market is near impossible to achieve success in but this will be a good product for your portfolio, or just to gain experience building websites. Good work.

Thank you 🤩! Yeah it seems like it will be a big challenge to try and get users with all the competition out there.

It's built fully from scratch, we contracted a designer to give us mock ups for the design but otherwise we implemented all functionality + styling from scratch.
