I had at one point a side business selling things like latest nav maps, apple car play activations and other enabling services for BMW head units.
Technically hacking as it's software patching and bypassing BMW protections etc but if you for example Google for BMW retrofitting/coding you'll see it's a a known market amongst car enthusiasts.
I built a Shopify store and brand around it. A lot was remote (but also offered in person services)
I sold nav updates for ~$20 and CarPlay activations for $150-300 each and made about $8,000 in 6 months. Took too much of my time in the end and I have other businesses that I needed to focus on so let it fizzle out.
On the off chance that someone wants to start a similar business, or just in general would like the actual software used to do this I own and am selling a license for the software that effectively is required to do all of this. ~$3500 new but I'd be willing to sell for $2000 ONO.
PM for more info, happy to give some more context to the opportunity.
