I agree with [mention=4880700] that kind of attack is feasible,I made a tool for the first version of itsploit which attacks Metamask wallets by generating the recovery phrase key,using permutation and some other algorithms through automation wich I made for this application and wich have proven to be effective.

If it is asking for the password and not the seed phrase, I found that you can use hashcat attack mode 26600. Bitcoin and a number of other modern encryption algorithms are quite complex to process, so it could quite easily take ages to crack the password, if at all.
