You should be fine on 8 - I had started at 2, then bumped to 4 recently and it was much better so imagine that 8 would be fine. Although obviously depends on what you are doing.

thanks man, i already did that, but it runs very sketchy, it really cannot be used for real world scenarios haha 😆

For me it depends on the hardware you are running. If you have quality laptop and have high GPU that can pretty much handle and optimize the 3d acceleration of your windows 10 guest in your linux host then you have no problems otherwise you need a machine or an upgrade.

i didn't even think about the gpu performance on that, thanks bro, yeah i think the issue is within the gpu itself which is not that good at all haha, i wanted to have windows along linux as well so i could test what i write on windows as well other than linux, but its ok anyway haha, i will need to buy a proper windows 7 activation key and then probably do the upgrade from Win7 to Win11, i think the key for Win7 should cost less then Win11 or R they the same perhaps? idk about windows very well, i mostly always been using linux the entire life haha 😆

You seem hardcore. Hahahaha. But anyway, its just a matter of preference and you are better off with linux. The only downside with linux in my case is the lack of some hardware support but in general linux really is a great system especially if you want to take everything more seriously without distractions.
I suggest you get a workstation or maybe a more powerful laptop if you are a laptop user. Instead of virtual machines, have you considered using a Windows VPS via RDP?

I didn't, i have a laptop(lenovo thinkpad) the new one with touch screen and the little pen for writing on it which i never bothered to use anyway haha, it has pretty small size screen (12") but i like the resolution quality, 8 RAM and intel core i5, not very powerful tho, i liked the style, it's matte black, i only use black laptops, i don't like other colors 😆, even tho it came with Windows 11 pre-installed, i erased and replaced it with linux mint instead, but i will try Window VPS via RDP as you said, but i need the Win activation key anyway, i haven't one haha, do you any place for cheap keys? i don't want to spend $200 for that key haha... 🤣
Hey, I was just wondering if I could about installing VBox? I have been trying over the last couple days and it won't run. I just keep getting errors. It's really frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have Windows 11 and it won't let me use it. Apparently, there were issues with that but some people found a way around it. Nothing I have read has helped me this far. I also have Linux on my computer but I feel like I must be doing something wrong.

haha it happens all the times bro, don't stress out :), do you have Hyper-V enabled? if so please disabled it, it is causing conflicts with your system, otherwise it might be the hardware virtualization (VT-x/AMD-V) that might not be enabled, check that out, enabled it if it is not, or another reason might be you have an outdated virtual box version... try these methods.
You also said you have Linux on your machine, you mean dual-booting with linux or just you have linux as iso image lurking in your downloads folder?

Nice, we have the same taste. I like smaller machines as well. I know a CHEAP source, I sent you a DM just check it out.

I checked and everything is enabled. The site says you can't use the new version of VBOX, which is 7.0.16. When I download it an error comes up and it can't open file. I really wanted to use vbox since it seems to be the most preferred. I am obviously a newb so I downloaded Linux but also have windows iso because after getting frustrated with vbox I was going to try a different VM.

It's alright. I appreciate it. This is what it says when I go on VBOX. ATTENTION: PLEASE REFRAIN FROM UPGRADING TO 7.0.16 FOR NOW. THIS RELEASE HAS AN ISSUES WHICH MIGHT CAUSE HOST OS CRASH WHEN VM IS CONFIGURED TO USE BRIDGE OR HOST-ONLY NETWORKING.
I assume everyone has seen the same message.
So I tried to use an older version but they are out of date and says it is not supported.
I don't know if that helps.
If not, no biggy.
Thank you for the replies though.
