I have no clue about these kind of miner, I only know about GPU gaming pcs. Can I buy one of these and plug it in the power outlet or are there something else I would need?

If your electricity cost is zero, then you have the biggest competitive advantage by running old, obsolete hardware that wouldn't break even with paid electricity. You would be able to buy old hardware (such as an S17) for dirt cheap prices and that investment would ROI within a few months since you have no operating expenses.

Use https://www.asicminervalue.com/ and toggle the electricity cost at the top of the page to 0.01 USD/KWh.

and then just subtract whatever reward this shows in half, because by the time it comes in the mail block rewards will be cut in half.. and double the time it takes to ROI for the same reason.
