I'm finally watching Attack on Titan all the way through. I'm sure this is a common feeling but I still gotta say it: Eren Yeager is a little bitch. He makes it hard to finish the show sometimes.

The guy vowed to wipe out all titans and he delivered.
Yes sure, he wiped out 80% of humanity as well, but he delivered on his promise, no?

Jokes aside, the story of how a young kid that wanted to make the world a better place for everyone grew up to commit mass genocide is heartbreaking.
The things he had to do, the sacrifices he made just so that everyone left will never have to go into an infinite cycle of hate and despair is baffling.

It's shame that the final scenes in the anime (which aren't canon as far as I know) that indicate that although the world flourished, it still fell back into war eventually.

After all those years (probably thousands), a young kid walked into a tree.
The same scene where Ymir walked in a human and walked out a force that changed the world.

What happens next? that's for your imagination.



Overall, one of the best shows (not just anime) I have had the fortune to enjoy from the first episode to last.

What makes him a "little bitch"? He's extremely head strong and confident. Yeah he cries when he's a kid and later on when things go wrong but do you expect him to just be like "lol poggers" every time a friend or comrade is killed? AOT is a very emotional anime, it's supposed to convey fear and despair, loss, morality and the grey lines that comes with that.

Might just not be for you, not every popular anime is liked by everyone (I've tried watching Demon Slayer like 6 times and still haven't finished the first season) If you're not enjoying it, don't watch it.

Short answer: Yes, it's a lot better than your average anime.



Long answer: It has many layers, I like how everytime you think "okay, I think I got it all figured out"
Something happens, someone says something, another power (be it natural or supernatural) is introduced.

Hidden secrets, deals, plots, fights, deception, lies, loyalty, betrayal, brutal & unforgiving world.
Just top of my head.

If you have a thing against "cartoons", that's cool as well.
A friend of mine couldn't take it seriously because it's cartoon.

Your safest bet in that case would be to pick up the Manga.
I have done both, but somethings in the anime were simply too beautiful for my mind to imagine them solely from reading the manga, watching them happen in the anime really made the difference for me.


Unfortunately, I can never see this made into a successful TV Series or Movies, unless you are talking "Peter Jackson - LOTR" level of dedication.
