It's a great feeling when you can walk into a job interview for a job that reached out to you. The stress melts away.
What are your go-to questions when an interviewer asks "do you have any questions for us". I obviously don't ask about money right away.
I usually ask something. Mostly just to understand how things flow. e.g. "How does this role fit into the department/organization? Who do they report to, and usually have to work with?"
There's always some job specific questions, depending on what I've learned so far.

I ask about long term stuff, to let them make inferences about your intent to stay. What does this job look like potentially in a year or so for me?
Are there extra things I can do to become a more valuable asset? Like courses, certifications, etc.
What are some tips for somebody starting out here?
A quick update. I think I did okay so I hope to hear back. I asked them "what does the normal day to day look like for this position" and "What would you like me to accomplish in the first 90 days". Their answers gave me a better understanding of what is expected of me and how to attain those goals.
I always ask questions to get the complete outline of the responsibilities I'm gonna have.
As soon as I start the job and new things pop up that haven't been mentioned at the start, that's a hint that the organization is a mess.

That's the worst.

I read somewhere about a psychology trick.
you ask "what would be my title? what would be my day-to-day responsibilities?" or something along that.
By doing that, you plant the idea of working with you, making you a more favorable pick.
I wouldn't rely solely on that though lol.
If you recently went to one, i hope it went well for you.
You could ask anything really from why they are hiring, what challenges you might face to how the work environment is.
The latter would be quite important to me because if its super stressful and no cool vibes, i'd only be staying if it was super high pay.
Thank you for the +rep / QL etc but I do not return these just because you have given them to me unless stated otherwise.
I know you probably already had your interview but thought someone finding this in the future could benefit.
So that I can make sure I have all the information I need, based on the current company growth plan what would be the next position I could assume and whats the growth timeline to the company needing to fill that role?
(lets them know you are thinking long term blah blah but they eat it up)
These are only if you feel the interview went well and you would like to work there or if you dont want to and just want to feel empowered:
If you had to make a decision right now would you hire me?
What makes you want to still interview other candidates?

I had my second interview with them yesterday. This one was a bit more technical. There were more of the team members there to see if I was a good fit with the other guys. It was strange but I think I'm going to be offered the job.

I tend to ask them a question along the lines of saying "With my skillset where would you see me best fit?" Most of the time that question I follow it up with, "So when do I start?", granted that only really works throwing that line in based on connection with the interviewer and your own personality.
