Depends on what kind of bots you are infecting. If it's Windows, it will only be useful mainly for layer 7 attacks. Any browser based method with low requests/s should suffice for most protection nowadays. Back in the day, Medusa HTTP was a great botnet specifically for server stress testing.
Most people these days tend to just use NodeJS and proxies-- for layer 7 stress tests, of course.
Layer 4 attacks seem to have regressed, most now just use amplifications due to ease of usage.

Honestly the idea of loaders being out dated or they stop working for whatever reason specifically when all they are designed for are a simple client-server C&C server and launching ddos attacks (protocols have been used for many many years and havent changed one bit (ipv4) standard, there is no reason as to why you shouldnt use mirai today, simply find an exploit with many vulnerable devices, write a poc and load your bot onto the machines? Only real reason to use a different bot is for the bot killer functionality which may be more up to date than malware from 2018

Only real reason to use a different bot is for the bot killer functionality which may be more up to date than malware from 2018

There are tons of Yara rules out there to detect Mirai payloads, even the packages sent between Client and Server
Same as the well known fileless method, to operate 100% in memory wasn't a thing in 2018.

Lmao i dont know if you know what a bot is and what it is used for, the fact that there is a telnet bruteforcer or whatever is used to drop the payload which is simply wget / curl and execute binary has nothing to do with the actual execution rate, resort to echo loading your bot onto the machines or simply find exploits that aren't widely and utterly used and raped by 100 other people and mirai will work just as well as anything else, trust me i am using it with great success, anyway thats the last youll get of my help as it seems your use of sarcasm indicates extreme intelligence and you should be able to figure this out yourself
