Could anyone teach me the basics?

Hey there, I am a beginner and have effectively no experience, can anyone teach me the basics of ethical hacking?
I could teach you the basics if you really don't want to follow any of the excellent courses or tutorial collections shared here. I mean, Bastille has put a lot of work into his https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6263412, and many beginner ethical hackers have found it useful.
I'm going to bump this, I really intend to learn using these resources

I can recommend academys like Hackthebox which have a load of free tutorials with interactive tests. Jup it's a revlink but I don't want you to sell this. I learned the first two years with the free stuff from them.
Alternativly there is TryHackMe but I have only experience with the boxes to train hacking, not their academy.

Hello there! Well you can gain reps and some abs if you would first study programming and networking. Then that is when you jump to ethical hacking if you don't want to miss a thing my friend. Also having a teacher here will just slow you down unless its paid, I suggest better teach yourself so you can fully grasp and understand anything. 🙃

Thanks, I did not know that existed but I'll be sure to check it out!

Thanks, will do, I already know the basics of networking and a decent amount of python and a little javascript, do you have any recommendations of what the best programming languages are to learn?

I'd say Python is the best starting resource for programming.

Ethical hacking has to do with Kali Linux and its suite of tools.

There is a whole library of content for beginners on this forum. All that is required is to dig around for it.
Try using the Advanced Search option or changing the sorting of the threads to help find what you're looking for.

Good point, but members cannot use Bytes to bump threads that they did not create.
