Not sure if anyone here grew up playing Call of Duty like me, but this is the Golden Age.

Few months ago I bought an old computer with a CRT monitor just to play old games, use Windows Media Player, Winamp, I also found a project of a cracked MSN that is maintained by people, you can’t use your old account but you can chat with people using this MSN version too, you need to create an account on their website, it’s totally free and called escargot chat if I remember well

How did I know this was gonna be a CoD4 video..

Man, I'm still so sad I lost the ONE recording I actually liked of one of my free runs from back in the day. I was a huge part of the glitching & free running community on CoD4, the Mike Myers community. You know, where you play old-school mode so you can jump higher and run faster, you can do elevators, bounces, RPG-jumps, hard-strafes to get to certain glitches, the list goes on and on.

Maybe one day YouTube will magically reinstate the video. 🙃

edit: Here's an example of what we did everyday for YEARS (from around 2008 - 2016/17 - then I sorta became inactive). Keep in mind we're not using any mods or anything here, it's all 100% just knowing how to exploit the game physics in old-school mode primarily for free running, reg-mode for serious glitching especially back in the day before old-school became the main game-mode for Mike Myers games.

Oh god, I completely forgot about old school mode. I remember needing just a USB stick on ps3 for the ufo mode (no clipping) and skywalking on overgrown. I also remember this weird glitch when you jump and disconnect your controller so you're frozen in the air for other people while you have a black screen. COD4 really was the best. I also found so many people on that game (up to 18 people) who played infected mode basically and nobody trolled at all. Once you got knifed, you switch teams. It was just the best times.

Seriously man, they really were the golden days of gaming imo. Lobbies with the full 18 player count, clan tags with all your friends, being last alive so everyone is watching you run while you try your best to show off lmao. And yeah man, infected was always fun.

Mo's Menu was amazing for glitching though, especially due to the preset spawns that lined you up perfectly for a strafe or bounce.

COD4 was the last COD game for me, I kinda broke the single player part of it completely, skipped check, load and trigger points and managed to get the story messed up completely. For me the best nostalgia trip related to PC's is Windows XP, WinAMP, LimeWire, Napster, NFS:U2 (had some mind blowing visuals back then), CS1.6 (proper sweaty lan parties with friends), MSN Messenger 6.2 (the one that could be hijacked and spoofed etc)...and so on...I kinda miss those days tbh...

CoD 4 will always have a special place in my heart since it was the first CoD game I ever really played a lot, online, owned, etc. Got mega addicted to that shit and it was what sparked my love for CoD. Unfortunately I don't feel quite the same about the franchise these days though I think that goes for many of us and that were playing back that far as well, but I'm glad to have enjoyed all I did.
