help me to decrypt MD5

Please I want to decrypt this hash I found it in shodow file

root:$1$ykdupq/3$gRAg4xnLZfflavUk4tX5E/:19946:0:99999:7:::
Code
hashcat --force -m 500 -a 0 -o found1.txt --remove puthasheshere.hash /usr/share/wordlists/rockyou.txt

https://github.com/frizb/Hashcat-Cheatsheet

Here you go, have at it with hashcat. The $1$ykdupq/3$gRAg4xnLZfflavUk4tX5E/ is what goes into the puthasheshere.hash file (which is a plaintext file).

It works fine if you have hashcat and rockyou.txt downloaded and changed the placeholders to what they should be.
Unable to crack hash. It's not as simple as finding a decryption key and decrypting a hash. I tried matching it to over half a trillion passwords and got nothing. account_ has a more powerful cracking rig. Maybe he would give more of a go at it if you offered a tip.
No luck on basic run, can run again depends on the offer.

I know that you got the hash by 'unpacking' an OpenWRT router. Have you searched for an exploit? How much do you know about the person who set the password?

How did you figure this? Could be any linux system that uses md5-crypt.
