Pretty sure this was added a while ago but I find it pretty irritating to this day, I always delete them and still honestly don't understand why they were added.
If using multiple emojis or utilizing emojis in a long thread it can be pretty tedious and consume post character limit.
I think u can chose multi icons then choose size later, tbh i dont think its that important

I have noticed this too. Usually just let it pass, but can be bothersome.
Because I really feel the default font size for emoji's is way too small.

If there is a consensus that it's annoying I'll remove. But it has been this way for years and this if the first complaint I've read.

I think it makes more sense to remain the same size as the text. Don't think I've ever seen people actually using the [x-large] tag.
Obviously not a massive concern or inconvenience, but seemingly everyone removes the tags anyways.
I agree it's odd behavior but just use your native emoji keyboard then.
Windows: Win + .
Mac: Control + Command + Space

This is what I've always done as well. I find it much easier to just hit Win + . to pull up the emoji menu.
Not to mention you can just start typing to search for the emoji you want right entering the shortcut, no mouse needed.

My guess is that people used their keyboard emoji's. I can remove the tags, I don't give a fuck.
