But to be honest I didn't watch a lot of anime, I'm a lot into fighting style anime (Shonen?) but I think that the best are those who have stories and can catch your attention and when you watch them you're wondering what will happen next and so on. Shonens (most of the time) follow the same "path", the main character is weak, then he trains, becomes stronger and beat the bad guy.

I loved Evangelion but the ending was disappointing, I didn't watch the movies tho, I also loved Chainsaw man for the draw, they're really beautiful

My Favorite Anime Series would be Death Note. If You Are Looking For Something For Beginners or an Easy Watch. You Can Binge Death Note Rather Quickly. Episodes are about 22 Minutes and There is Only One Season You could Potentially Finish The Anime Within a Day. It’s Easy to Get Into In My Opinion. If You are Looking for Something to Get Invested In I would Recommend One Piece.
