So you've basically stolen a phone? Clearly if it's been "locked by owner" means they've had to go onto their apple account and lock the account, Apple is a funny one now as it's more complex compared to back in the day, even with a factory reset, you'd probably need a new SIM as it'll be locked through that.

It's tied to the phones logic board and apples servers. You can't replace anything to remove this lock except the logic board which is more expensive than the phone.

makes senes, it coulda even been stolen before i got it, found it on a main road by the guard rail. Suprised it wasnt fully smashed lol
