German Army to be allowed to shoot down drones

According to the article by heise.de:

Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the German government has registered a significant increase in drone incidents in Germany. Espionage or planned acts of sabotage could be behind this. The executive therefore now reportedly wants to allow the German armed forces to shoot down such unmanned flying objects over military and industrial facilities in Germany for security purposes. This is provided for in a draft amendment to the German Aviation Security Act, which the Federal Cabinet intends to launch on Wednesday. Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser and Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (both SPD) already agreed on this in principle in mid-December.

With increased drone sightings in the US: Whats your opinion on that matter? Are these indeed Aliens or China testing the anti air capabilites of foreign nations?

ADDITION:

The Bundeswehr is establishing a new major unit for the protection of infrastructure and military-important facilities in Germany. This unit will be part of the army and will consist of reservists and active soldiers, as stated by a spokesperson. The division will be placed under unified command.
I would urge them not to, but also good luck. AFAIK some of them are impossible to shoot down, and it would be unwise to try too hard.

At some point we have to find out what kind of drones/orbs these things are. Made on earth or somewhere else far away imo

This is true, we do, but I think if they are from another gov, or species, then shooting at them will reveal Germany’s capabilities. So that’s one reason not to fire on them - in the face of an unknown threat, it may be better to hide our defense capabilities until we know more.

Personally I have seen flight capabilities that suggest they can just dodge any modern missile we have anyways. I fully expect us to realize that these orbs may plan to keep flying regardless of our wishes. I do not think Germany will benefit from shooting at them. It could spark an escalation at worst, and reveal any shortcomings of ours at best.

It’s going to be an interesting year.

Drones and orbs over military bases, over data centers, and seen all around the world.

I don’t think they’re Russian because if they were, they’d use them in Ukraine.

I don’t think they’re Chinese because of how big of an escalation this is.

I don’t think they’re USA for the same reason.

The two most likely scenarios:
- they come from somewhere with nothing to lose, like a small country taking their chances

- they come from somewhere with nothing to lose, like if they know they cannot be defeated

Why not China? They revealed new stealth technology with their 6th Gen fighter. And these drones/orbs showed up before they revealed it. Might have been a low cost test? Who knows.

Because if it was China they could just upend the energy markets with breakthrough tech

These craft have no visible emissions, no major thermal signature, and exhibit the ability to essentially either negate gravity or otherwise ignore it.

The newest stealth craft out of China is still somewhat primitive. It sacrifices freedom of movement for increased stealth in certain conditions. The orbs don’t focus on stealth because they can just zip away at light speed.

Only time will tell but my story will be the same. I really do hope we get answers
