To be honest, I actually think that would be kinda cool and encourage more activity within the hack game, however, at the same time this would likely reduce community engagement as people would be farming bytes consistently through spamming the missions. If there were more variables involved, maybe.
As you've now already seen from another reply, there is an option to convert bytes to game cash. As for the other way around, Omni covered his thoughts on the idea a bit a few months back. I'll link his 2 posts about such below.
