Hey HF,
If you're looking to set up an SS7 Gateway on Debian 12, follow this guide. This is for script kiddies and new hackers who want to experiment with telecom networks, VoIP routing, or just learn about SIGTRAN and SS7 signaling.
⚙️ Steps to Install & Configure an SS7 Gateway on Debian 12
🔥 First, update your system
🔥 Install Required Dependencies
🔥 Disable & Remove AppArmor (optional but recommended)
🔥 Download & Compile Osmocom Libraries (for SIGTRAN Support)
🔥 Download & Compile Osmocom SS7 Stack (OsmoSTP)
🔥 Setup Default SS7 Configuration
🔥 Add the Following SS7 Gateway Configuration:
🔥 Start SS7 Gateway (OsmoSTP)
🔥 Enable OsmoSTP as a Service
🔥 Add the Following Service Config:
🔥 Enable & Start the SS7 Service
🎯 Final Notes:
✅ This setup creates a basic SS7 Gateway using OsmoSTP and SIGTRAN.
✅ You can modify /etc/osmocom/osmo-stp.cfg for different point codes and routing options.
✅ Use systemctl status osmo-stp to check if the SS7 gateway is running.
✅ If you run into issues, check logs using journalctl -u osmo-stp.
✅ Ensure your firewall allows traffic on SS7 ports (2905 & 2906) if needed:
Enjoy hacking! 🏴☠️
