Trump & Musk accused of theft of funds, illegal removal of government funds

The law is the law. It has no room for politics. This is news. Criminals will be brought to trial, and sentenced appropriately. That’s how law & order & Justice works. It’s the executive branch’s responsibility to enforce our laws, not to decide if they’re okay to break.

This will have to be brought to court, which is why my title says ACCUSED specifically.

Quote:“This morning, my financial team shockingly uncovered that President Trump and his crony Elon Musk illegally executed a revocation of $80 million in congressionally-appropriated FEMA funding from New York City’s bank accounts late yesterday afternoon. This is money that the federal government previously disbursed for shelter and services and is now missing. This highway robbery of our funds directly out of our bank account is a betrayal of everyone who calls New York City home.”

“New York City cannot take this lying down. I call on the Mayor to immediately pursue legal action to ensure the tens of millions of dollars stolen by Trump and DOGE are rightfully returned. If instead Mayor Adams continues to be President Trump’s pawn, my Office will request to work in partnership with the New York City Law Department to pursue aggressive legal action.”

"The federal government is typically allowed to recoup funds already dispersed through grants if the payments are deemed improper or in violation of the grant agreement, though the process can be lengthy and administratively burdensome for agencies, according to the Congressional Research Service."

We all know how Trump feels about lengthy administrative procedure this term. I'm sure that he felt justified because FEMA had disbursed the funds seemingly to spite him.
I am not sure why Musk let alone Trump would steal $80 m

We shall see but they just fired a few of the appointed officials, allegedly because they used approved funds for approved purposes?

Weird times man. I’m sure courts will figure it all out. It is a process, it could take months.

I didn’t share any thoughts in this thread.
I posted a .gov link to a real, ongoing event and its follow up and added some notes about how laws work in our country. It’s all basic 3 branch government notes, from what would be elementary school for most kids.

Try again

It's a shame you joined HF when you did. You would have had so much to post on the biden admin and his respect and admins tolerance for the rule of law.

Uneducated hypocrite.

You need to stop harassing me.
I shared a .gov link, didn’t share a single opinion. Stating how laws work and sharing a link isn’t something I need to worry about.

I have faith that all crimes will be tried, whether thats in 2025 or 2028. I will respect any outcome that is legal. If however the executive branch violates the constitution and doesn’t respect the law, I would hope even MAGA would support the impeachment.

Laws transcend politics.
Constitution is more important than any single party, and that’s true regardless of what the President thinks.

I also don’t know why everyone brings up Biden. I wasn’t a die hard Biden fan by any means. I wasn’t a die hard Obama guy either, although I did like many of his changes at times.

I’m not even a strong democrat. My politics are in the middle, and many Republican values too.

I respect laws, tradition, and the power of the White House. Unfortunately all of those are being abused. I choose to share the news because we are seeing unprecedented lawlessness.

Stop trying to frame this as a personal thing. Your real gripe is with those who make the news. It shouldn’t be with those who share the resulting links.

It's been shown that the most intelligent people can be subject to brainwashing techniques.

AI Quote: Yes, highly intelligent people can be brainwashed, though they may be more resistant in some ways. Intelligence alone does not make someone immune to psychological manipulation, as brainwashing (also known as coercive persuasion or thought reform) primarily exploits emotions, social pressure, and cognitive biases rather than just rational thinking.

## Why Can Intelligent People Be Brainwashed?
1. Emotional Manipulation Overrides Rational Thought
- Brainwashing techniques often target fear, guilt, and identity, which can bypass logical reasoning.
- Even high-IQ individuals can be influenced if the manipulation plays on their emotions or insecurities.

2. Social Influence & Group Pressure
- Humans are social creatures, and even highly intelligent people seek belonging.
- If a person is surrounded by like-minded people, they may start to accept beliefs they once rejected (groupthink).

3. Cognitive Biases Still Affect Smart People
- Confirmation Bias: Intelligent people may selectively seek information that supports their new belief system.
- Dunning-Kruger Effect: Some highly intelligent people may overestimate their ability to detect manipulation, making them more vulnerable.

4. Repetition & Psychological Conditioning
- Even smart individuals are susceptible to repetitive exposure to ideas, especially under stress or isolation.
- Historical examples show intellectuals and scientists falling into cults, extremist ideologies, or totalitarian propaganda.

5. Stress, Fatigue, or Trauma Makes Anyone Vulnerable
- Sleep deprivation, high stress, or personal crises can weaken critical thinking skills.
- Highly intelligent people going through personal hardship may be more susceptible to coercive influence.

## Examples of Intelligent People Being Brainwashed
✅ Cults:
- Many members of high-control religious or ideological groups are highly educated (e.g., doctors, lawyers, and scientists in cults like Scientology, NXIVM, or Jonestown).

✅ Totalitarian Regimes:
- Intellectuals in Nazi Germany, Stalin’s USSR, and Maoist China sometimes rationalized or justified extreme policies.

✅ Corporate & Political Propaganda:
- Even experts in advertising, psychology, or media can fall for misinformation if they emotionally identify with it.

## Are Intelligent People More Resistant to Brainwashing?
✔️ In Some Ways, Yes:
- They may be better at detecting logical fallacies and analyzing evidence.
- Critical thinkers are less likely to accept simple, one-sided arguments.

❌ In Other Ways, No:
- If they believe they are “too smart to be brainwashed,” they drop their guard.
- They may rationalize their new beliefs more effectively, making deprogramming harder.

## How to Avoid Brainwashing (For Anyone)
🧠 1. Stay Open to Opposing Views: Challenge your beliefs with alternative perspectives.
🔎 2. Fact-Check Sources: Be skeptical of emotionally charged news or claims.
🛑 3. Recognize Manipulation Tactics: Watch for fear-mongering, love-bombing, and thought-stopping phrases.
💬 4. Maintain Diverse Social Connections: Avoid echo chambers.
😴 5. Prioritize Mental & Physical Well-Being: Fatigue and stress lower resistance to influence.

## Final Thought:
While intelligence can provide some protection, no one is completely immune to brainwashing—especially when emotions, social pressure, or trauma are involved. Self-awareness, critical thinking, and emotional resilience are the best defenses against manipulation. 🧠🔍

Does some of that sound like someone you know?

If you're implying I am like that, perhaps in some ways. In the end, to me, it's the moral values and ultimate outcomes that make me pursue the line of rhetoric that I do, not only that, it's obviously effective to some degree.

Tell that to the ATF. They made "laws" under Joe Biden and enforced them and yet still haven't faced any consequences.

Wasn't thinking of you when I stated that. But interesting reply because to me, a brainwashed person doesn't question if they are brainwashed. Just the fact you took a moment to reflect on it tells me you're not. Brainwashed people are dangerous because they've lost the ability to think objectively. They follow the narrative no matter where it goes.
