Help me pick a colour for our pool table!

So we are getting our pool table refurbished and one of the things we are getting done is refelting.

We have a very expensive pool table made with mahogany wood. See this image here:

So the felt is currently a darker green.

Our options are to go blue or green. I think that green would look nicer given that its a more traditional looking pool table, not a modern one.

My wife on the other hand thinks that itll lookk too boring and doing blue would lighten up the space because it is going on our patio.

Images below are of the same pool table as our but with the two colours.

I like blue, but I'm going to have to go with the classic green. I've mainly played pool on green felt.

It's an expensive pool table and I dont want to spend $1500 to get it wrong. This table retails for $6,495.

I prefer the Blue but do you have a picture of the area it's in?

Also some felts are red too. Do you have that option?

Why just Blue or Green? And I do think the space the table is at is going to come into play.

EDIT: Sorry but I think I'd go red because it would look great with the mahogany wood.

I think, I would've go for classic green. Feels like it fits better to the table's structure in my opinion, if you get what I mean.
Otherwise, both looks really good

The cloth we are using is this: https://billiardshop.com.au/strachan-6811-cloth/

Red does look good.... Hmmm. I've gotta make the decision today.

Blue and green is just what we narrowed it down to. But see that link there are heaps of colours.

If it's outdoors, get an outdoor cloth. They have it in blue.

Also, are you sure you won't get a better deal on Amazon and just install it yourself?

Classic green for me. Its the only color I've ever played on.

I considered the outdoor cloth but the issue is it's a non directional cloth so it won't play properly. The table is always covered.

As for doing it myself, I snapped a leg on the corner and the table is a bit wobbly on all corners so they need to come out anyway and it needs to be all tightened up.

I also don't trust myself to work on a table this expensive.

I just watched the video Omniscient. Our table is constructed way different to that table, the slate doesn't just pop up that it did in that vid. You've gotta take the whole top off, the rails are bolted directly onto the slate so you've gotta take the whole two-sides off the top, which is a very big job.

Meh, bullshit. It's still just nuts and bolts. How much does the refurb cost? For me if I can save $500 for 5 hours of my own labor ($100 an hour) I'd rather do it myself. Doing things yourself is rewarding.

Never pay people more than you earn to do a job you can do yourself imho.

The other thing to consider is, you can't do that job yourself. It takes 2-3 strong people to move this stuff. We are paying $1500AUD for them to fix the snapped leg, go around the whole frame and tighten everything as well as recloth the table. The cloth they're using is about $500.

I also don't have any of the tools like a staple gun which you need for the cushions.

I am also lazy....that's why I run a La-Z-Boy store haha.

I spoke to the store this morning, they said not to go with outdoor cloth because the fabric will get friction burn a lot easier than their directional cloth.

Not a good enough of an excuse. The heavy table, maybe, but I'd just ask a buddy over or one of my sons to do the lift part.

Fixing the leg might be a bit of a carpenter specialty thing to do it right but the change of the cloth really shouldn't be too hard.

I'm so fucking thrifty when it comes to stuff like this. I just want to pay the most minimal I can. I end up doing a lot of things myself when it comes to it. I'd rather do a mediocre job myself save thousands. Thus my tiling of my floor which came out so-so but everyone seems to like it.

I don't know man, I think I'd tackle your pool table job myself, even fixing the leg.
I personally think green would look great with the traditional mahogany wood of your pool table. But if your wife prefers blue for a lighter feel on the patio, that could work too. Ultimately, go with what you both like best!

That blue really offsets that stain on the hardwood beautifully. Green is to loud for that wood.

Alright mate, I'll book you some flights and get you to do it haha.
